Extension Projects
The University Extension on the constitutional principle of indivisibility between teaching, research and extension, it’s an interdisciplinary, educational, cultural, scientific and political process that promotes transformative interaction between the University and other sectors of society.
Its goals:
I – to articulate education and research with the demands of society, seeking the commitment of the university community with the interests and needs of society at all levels;
II – to establish mechanisms of integration between the academic knowledge and popular knowledge, aiming at the production of information with constant interaction between theory and practice;
III – to encourage the academic practice, which contributes to the development of social and political awareness, and also the formation of the professional-citizen;
IV – to promote the solution of regional and national problems in compliance with the social mission of the University;
V – to implement the process of democratization of academic knowledge and effective participation of society in the actions of the University;
VI – to promote actions facilitating access to the knowledge of individuals and groups outside the university community;
VII – to support the community productions, in culture, sports, social and recreation; and
VIII – to provide innovative extension actions within the University.
