I \u2013 to articulate education and research with the demands of society, seeking the commitment of the university community with the interests and needs of society at all levels;<\/p>\n
II – to establish mechanisms of integration between the academic knowledge and popular knowledge, aiming at the production of information with constant interaction between theory and practice;<\/p>\n
III – to encourage the academic practice, which contributes to the development of social and political awareness, and also the formation of the professional-citizen;<\/p>\n
IV – to promote the solution of regional and national problems in compliance with the social mission of the University;<\/p>\n
V – to implement the process of democratization of academic knowledge and effective participation of society in the actions of the University;<\/p>\n
VI – to promote actions facilitating access to the knowledge of individuals and groups outside the university community;<\/p>\n
VII – to support the community productions, in\u00a0culture, sports, social and recreation; and<\/p>\n
VIII – to provide innovative extension actions within the University.<\/p>\n
